Sunny days!

I love sunny days! Today was a great day, it started off with my son and I enjoying our morning together, then it was off to Starbucks, from there we went to the train park to meet Metromom, sister and brother. We had a great time with the kids, we rode the train and carrousel, ate lunch then ice cream, and between all of that we passed out flyers for our Eggstravaganza! It was one of those days that made you want to be outside all day! A day filled with adventure, great people and a passion for life!

My creation...scary?

I saw this idea in a magazine, but it wasn't this extravagant. No flowers, beads, glitter, grass or ribbon, just twigs and eggs. So my thought was that I could make it better...what do you think? Scary?

Ever Wonder?

Ever wonder where the Easter bunny came from?
According to mythology, the bunny hasn't always been a cuddly creature, it was originally a large sacred bird that belonged to the pagan goddess of spring, Eoster (after whom Easter is named). The goddess is said to have turned the bird into a rabbit in a fit of rage, but our familiar friend didn't lose all of his birdlike qualities, as he still makes straw nests full of eggs.

Ever wonder how you should eat a chocolate bunny?
According to 76% of Americans you should eat the ears first.

Ever wonder why we give eggs?
The tradition of exchanging hard-boiled eggs was already centuries old when Easter was first celebrated by Christians. The egg symbolizes rebirth in many cultures. In the 19th century, confectioners sweetened up the swap, experimenting with egg-shaped pastries and marzipan before finally settling on chocolate. By the end of the century, they had mastered the art of producing the perfect cocoa ovals we love today.

Ever wonder what Ash Wednesday is?
During Lent in the Middle Ages, sinners used to be excluded from Communion, made to wear sackcloth and sprinkled with ashes from the burnt remains of the previous year's Palm Sunday crosses. To remind the faithful of the sorrow they should feel for their sins, it has become customary for Roman Catholics, Episcopalians and some other Protestants to wear ashes on their foreheads for the first day of Lent - Ash Wednesday.

Ever wonder why lilies are so popular this time of year?
In Christianity, the white lily is the symbol of the resurrection of Christ, and it is often used to decorate church altars.

Ever wonder how religion got so complicated?
Ever wonder how our lives get so complicated?
Ever wonder why people make stories up instead of telling the greatest love story of all?
Ever wonder who these people are that make the story up? (Like Eoster)
Ever wonder why the simple gospel gets lost?

Ever wonder?

I can't tell you how proud I am of this wonderful little girl (sister). She is always so sweet and thoughtful and when things don't go her way she immediately changes her attitude and comes up with a better solution. What an awesome testimate of the wonderful works of God! I love you girl...sister!

-This sister/brother thing reminds me of the Barenstein Bears! :)
